Staying an extra day in The Big Easy?

Whew! What a week.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Complete Concussion Management booth to say hello! It was a pleasure meeting you.

Now that the conference is over, it’s time to kick back and relax. If you’re staying at extra day in New Orleans and looking for something to do, check out these spots!

Airboat Adventures

Alligators. Swamp. Airboats. Sounds amazing!

Louisiana Airboat Adventures is located less than 30 minutes from the French Quarter. They’ll even come pick you up for their swamp tours.

This is different from the commercial New Orleans swamp tours. Guests at Airboat adventures can hop on speciality fan boats and get up close with gators and other exotic wildlife, including endangered birds, flora and fauna.

In their words, “it’s like taking a step back in time and seeing Louisana the way it was before the hustle and bustle of modern life.”

So, put your phone down. Disconnect. Take some time for you and your friends to travel high above the marshes and soak in some nature.

With over 20,000 acres of tidewater cypress swamp, this is your opportunity to gators, snakes, turtles, egrets, herons and more. The tours last about 2 hours, so schedule accordingly.

The French Quarter

Consider yourself a history buff? Want to experience downtown New Orleans like a local?>

The French Quarter is the oldest part of the city of New Orleans, founded in the 1700s. This is where you can experience Mardis Gras!

Plan your day because the French Quarter has a lot to offer: hotels, events, history, shopping, dining and nightlife. There is actually a very useful trip planner tool on their website.

If you have the chance to make it to the French Quarter, be sure to check out Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral and the Preservation Hall. Very cool spots!

Walking Tours

If you still have some gas in the tank despite being on your feet for a few days, check out New Orleans many walking tours. There is something for everyone!

One of our favorites is the New Orleans’ Lafayette Cemetery and Garden District tour. We suggest you get the experienced local guide – it makes the tour much more informative and interactive.

During the tour, you’ll learn about life and death, and have the opportunity to explore beautiful gardens and extravagant crypts and grave sites.

Check out the shady avenues and antebellum homes. The architecture is spectacular.

If you’re interested in booking one of these tours, you can view more information here.
