Free App Allows Users to Assess, Report and Track Concussion Injuries

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO – March 26, 2018 – Complete Concussion Management Inc. (CCMI) announced the launch of its new Concussion Tracker app for iOS and Android devices. The Concussion Tracker supports communication between sports, schools, parents and healthcare practitioners, keeping everyone up to date when a concussion occurs and throughout the recovery process.

Lack of communication is recognized as a common barrier to injury reporting and effective concussion management. Several studies cite the need for increased communication to improve concussion care, monitor recovery and facilitate return to activity protocols.1,2,3

“There are so many people that need to be informed if an injury occurs and at each stage of recovery,” said Dr. Cameron Marshall, DC, President, CCMI. “Many people have a significant role to play in achieving full recovery, and communication is key. The Concussion Tracker app allows every stakeholder to be on the same page.”

The free mobile application allows users to report suspected concussions to a licensed healthcare professional and track return to learn and play status as well as send updates at each stage of recovery.

Features include:

Coaches, trainers, and teachers can:

  • Assess and report suspected concussions directly to trained healthcare practitioners.
  • Access concussion training materials with sport-specific exercises and restrictions at each recovery stage.
  • Stay informed about recovery progress and milestones for all athletes/students under their guidance.
  • Send regular updates to and receive clearance notifications from treating healthcare practitioners.
