Baseline testing is a series of physical and cognitive tests designed to provide a pre-injury overview of an individual’s healthy brain function. These tests can provide clinicians with an objective benchmark on which to compare should an athlete sustain a concussion. As the symptoms of concussion will often dissipate days to weeks before the brain has recovered, having objective baseline information provides clinicians with valuable information that may help to make safer return to play decisions.
The CCMI clinic network allows you access to these baseline results and proper follow-up care at any CCMI location. Download the new Concussion Tracker App to view your results, find CCMI clinics, and learn recovery tips, all from your smartphone! If a concussion occurs, your app will convert into a rehab tool where you can view prescribed rehab exercises and report your daily symptoms to your CCMI clinic.
The CCMI baseline concussion test may be covered by secondary heath benefits, which means you may be eligible to receive full or partial reimbursement.
